NKSJ Holdings, Inc. has published its Corporate Responsibility Communication 2013 that reports on the NKSJ Group’s initiatives concerning corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Corporate Responsibility Communication 2013 is a comprehensive report on NKSJ Holdings, Inc. covering all CSR initiatives within the NKSJ group of companies, including Sompo Japan Insurance Inc. and Nipponkoa Insurance Co., Ltd.
It demonstrates the way CSR is promoted throughout the Group by describing the NKSJ Group’s policy and framework as well as reporting its progress. ?In line with the NKSJ Group’s “Five CSR Material Issues", the report describes initiatives addressing these specific issues and their achievements in 2012.?
* The NKSJ Group’s “Five CSR Material Issues" are:
1. Providing Safety and Security for the Society;
2. Tackling Global Environmental Issues – Focusing on Climate Change;
3. Providing Sustainable and Responsible Financial Services;
4. Community Involvement and Development – Partnership with NGOs; and
5. Developing Human Resources and Promoting Diversity.
The document also includes information on ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) initiatives relating to NKSJ Group’s business and finance strategy.
NKSJ Group has expanded the coverage of reporting ESG data in its survey of 27 Group companies, including consolidated subsidiaries, from 30 in FY2011 to 50, representing a more comprehensive disclosure.
NKSJ Group also started considering the introduction of defining Key Performance Indicators in FY2012. The report describes in detail that reporting process.
