Maersk’s Sustainability Report 2012 focuses on the social and environmental impacts of the Group’s investments within trade, infrastructure and energy.  The Report is available at

This time, the Group has documented the socio-economic impacts of its combined investments in Brazil. With a total of USD 3.4 billion invested in shipping, port operations and offshore oil activities, Maersk’s latest impact study zooms in on an important growth market. 

"Whether we are building a new container terminal, drilling for oil or developing a shipping service, we want to drive our business in a responsible way and be transparent about our performance. This is why we’re happy to present our fourth report on sustainability performance", says Annette Stube, Head of Group Sustainability in the Maersk Group.

Maersk concluded the year with high employee satisfaction, but the report also addresses a number of challenges. The company is committed to improving its performance within workplace safety and towards driving diversity forward more actively.
