Umicore's Annual Report 2011 goes on-line

The report offers a fully integrated view of Umicore's economic, environmental and social performance. A new on-line reporting centre enables readers to create their own customized report and offers additional functionality such as video case studies, dynamic charts and data downloads.

Key performance aspects for Umicore in 2011 were:

  Strong economic performance with profitability reaching record levels.
  Significant new investments in major growth areas - four of these can be explored through video case studies in http://www.umicore.com/reporting/casestudies/
  Further increase in research & development efforts.
  Mixed safety performance. New programmes were launched to ensure further progress towards the goal of zero accidents.
  CO2 emissions were 14% below those of the reference year 2006 for the same scope of activity.
  The impact of metal emissions to air and water were down 40% and 31% respectively compared to the reference year of 2009.
  Strides were made in implementing a sustainable procurement charter.
  Umicore's community engagement efforts increased and donations reached a record level of EUR 1.8 million.
