For the ninth consecutive year, Enel has published its Sustainability Report - this year more closely connected than ever to its Annual Report. The interactive report can be found at http://ethicalperformance.com/reports/links/enel11
The report has implemented the G3 and the Global Reporting Initiative EUSS (Electric Utilities Sector Supplement) indicators, which Enel has been helping to develop with GRI over the past five years.
It also outlines Enel Group's strategic priorities, which have been integrated in a 2011-2015 Industrial Plan that provides economic growth within a strategic framework that also pays maximum attention to environmental and social development.
This year the Sustainability Report has a new editorial look that mirrors the overall structure of its contents and makes the reader's job easier. Among the many novelties that Enel has relied upon in order to describe its commitment to sustainability, there is greater use of charts and tables, more of a focus on data and glossaries, photos and maps to represent the initiatives taken towards the various stakeholders, and timelines that rebuild the main achievements of the Group's Corporate Social Responsibility in 2010.
For the fifth year running, Enel's Sustainability Report has scored a maximum A+ grade of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Application Levels.
Along these guidelines, this year for the first time a new chapter on sustainability has also been added to the Consolidated Report and Financial Statements for 2010, in order to guarantee to all stakeholders a more integrated evaluation of the company's performances, both financial and not.
Marina Migliorato, Head of CSR and Relations with Associations, said the report is 'a significant document of reference', thanks to more than 450 indicators used to measure Enel's constant commitment to social responsibility in the 40 countries in which the energy company operates.
Enel's Sustainability Report is interactive and can be found at http://ethicalperformance.com/reports/links/enel11
