OTE, the leading telecommunications services provider in Greece and South Eastern Europe, has published its 2010 Corporate Responsibility Report on 23 June 2011 at the company's Annual Shareholders Meeting in Athens.

The Report details OTE's contribution to sustainable development in 2010 - one of the most difficult years in Greece's history - in which OTE maintained all aspects of its 'Building Ties' programme - in the marketplace, with employees, with society and for the environment.

This is OTE's sixth annual CR Report and is assured by Deloitte against AA1000 and GRI (G3.1) guidelines, at the GRI B+ Application Level.

Key issues covered by the Report include OTE's:

  Strategic approach to corporate responsibility, including progress on 30 core goals, all of which are proceeding on track.

  Continued investment to Greece's fast-growing broadband infrastructure and services, including innovations to connect remote areas of the country, use renewable technologies, promote technology convergence, and ensure accessibility for all social groups.

  A new multi-faceted strategy to promote Internet Safety with the public, employees and local communities, in partnership with leading NGOs.

  Long-term commitment to children, youth and vulnerable social groups, through support and partnerships with voluntary organizations serving them and special services and awards for students.

  Policies and practices to encourage employee development and success, wellbeing and satisfaction, including strong performance in health and safety, equal opportunities and an expanded employee volunteering program.

  Performance in measuring and reducing its environmental footprint, including energy, electronic waste and water, a particularly vital natural resource in South-East Europe.
