Fortis, an international provider of banking and insurance services with a presence in more than 50 countries, has published its fourth CSR Report, available at: http://www.ethicalperformance.net/Fortis_SustainabilityReport.html
The report focuses on the company's main strategic themes: sustainable supply chains, climate change and social inclusion.
It highlights achievements such as the establishment of a CSR Advisory Board, implementation of a carbon neutral programme, endorsement of the UN Principles for Responsible Investment, doubling the 'sustainable assets' under management, and partnership with the United Nations Development Program in Carbon Finance.
Jean Paul Votron, CEO of Fortis, states in the report: "Our commitment to grow our company in a sustainable way continues to develop year by year. The past year has been a momentous one for our company, not least because of the successful acquisition of ABN AMRO, which is highly significant for our sustainability ambitions. We are committed to draw on the CSR expertise for which ABN AMRO has earned an enviable position, as we pursue our goal of creating one of Europe's top rated financial institutions for both business and sustainability."
The CSR report is published on the same day as the annual report, is verified by KPMG, and meets the B+ application level of the G3 guidelines from the Global Reporting Initiative.
A full overview of all CSR policies and activities can be found on the company's recently re-designed website at http://www.ethicalperformance.net/Fortis_sustainability.html
