SEGRO publishes Sustainability Update 2009

The newly-published SEGRO Sustainability Update 2009 focuses on how sustainability delivers value for the commercial property investment and development business and its customers.

The document, available at demonstrates how SEGRO is making progress towards its 2014 sustainability targets.

2009 highlights include:
  96 per cent of development waste reused or recycled, diverting more than 24,000 tonnes from landfill.
  81 per cent of Continental European customers rated SEGRO's performance as 'good' or 'excellent', an increase from 72 per cent in 2008.
  310,000 kWh of clean power generated by photovoltaic panels on SEGRO properties, saving 240 tonnes of carbon.
  More than £1.1 million invested in charities and in local communities where SEGRO has a presence.
  British Safety Council International Safety Award for managing health and safety risks.
  20,000 sq m green roof installed at De Hoek Business Park in Amsterdam, reducing flood risk, improving insulation and encouraging biodiversity.
  New SEGRO Sustainability Framework applied to all major development and refurbishment projects.
  SEGRO became one of the first developers to be awarded Haute Qualité Environnementale for a logistics asset.
