BAA's 2008 corporate responsibility report has been launched this week.

The report says that with the ever-increasing scrutiny of the aviation industry's impact on society, BAA's license to operate and grow relies on demonstrating that it effectively manages its economic, environmental and community impacts.

BAA's goal is 'to contribute towards sustainable development by maximising the positive impacts of our business and minimising the negative impacts'.  The report reviews performance on:

   1. How sustainability is integrated into day-to-day business;
   2. BAA's approach to airport expansion and improving passenger experience;
   3. The local and national economic and social benefits of the business;
   4. How it manages environmental impacts, including climate change, noise, air, waste, water and biodiversity;
   5. The role of people, safety and security.

The document pulls together activities, performance and plans across all BAA airports and provides a detailed focus on Heathrow.  Each of BAA's airports will produce individual reports, expected to be published later this month.

The report is available to download from the corporate responsibility pages of
