ScottishPower, the international energy company, has published its 2004/05 Corporate Responsibility Report.

The web-based summary document outlines a number of highlights from 2004-05, including:

- reductions in emissions per gigawatt hour of energy generated
- £1billion earmarked for renewable energy projects in the UK by 2010
- the start of formal assessments of the social and environmental performance of its coal and natural gas suppliers
- the setting up of a £1million fuel poverty trust fund.

The company has also included issue briefings on climate change, safety and fuel poverty - three key issues faced by the international utility that serves 6.7 million customers in the UK and US. It has also extended the amount of information it provides on other areas such as governance, health and safety and procurement.

The report, which has been through an internal audit process and also independently assured by a third party, is partly a response to stakeholder requests for more information on the links between the company's operations and social and environmental issues such as fuel poverty, health and safety and climate change.
