Royal Philips Electronics published its Sustainability Annual Report 2006 on 19 February 2007 and can be found online at

The company, which makes medical systems, domestic appliances and personal care products as well as electronic goods and lighting, reports its sales of Green Products rose to more than EUR 4billion in 2006. This is the result of the company's EcoDesign drive over the past decade and its investment of more than EUR 400million in Green Lighting Technologies over the last five years. Philips will increase this investment by more than EUR 100m annually over the coming years.

The 78-page web-based document is prefaced by an interview with the company president stating Philips' sustainability strategy with a focus on energy-efficient and accessible and affordable health products.

Assured by KPMG, the report further highlights the company's healthcare projects in Africa, the Indian subcontinent and elsewhere, and shows that it has now completed ethical supply chain audits of 98 per cent of its highest-risk suppliers.
