Global health care company Abbott today released its 2011 Global Citizenship Report at http://ethicalperformance.com/reports/links/abb112
The report demonstrates how the company applies its business acumen, scientific expertise, resources and employee engagement to create long-term sustainable solutions to health care challenges. Highlights of Abbott's progress against its four citizenship priorities include:
- Innovating for the Future: Abbott is partnering with more than 75 leading universities, peer companies and research institutions to address emerging health issues in both developed and developing markets. - Enhancing Access: Abbott and its nonprofit foundation, the Abbott Fund, invested more than $730 million in 2011 to support capacity-building, product donations and patient assistance programs around the world. In 2011, Abbott expanded its partnerships with multiple patient organizations.
