BITC Responsible Business Awards now open for entries
The charity Business in the Community (BITC) is calling on inspirational businesses across the UK and abroad to enter the 2015 Responsible Business Awards.
Now in its 18th year, the Responsible Business Awards, which are free to enter, shine a spotlight on businesses that are creating a fairer society and a more sustainable future through their activities and programmes. The awards are open to businesses of all sizes – from SMEs to multi-national companies and across all sectors.
This year there are 14 categories, recognising the variety of ways that businesses are making a difference locally, nationally or internationally. From investing in the wellbeing of employees, to helping young people develop skills, transforming rural economies and supporting disadvantaged people into employment - these awards are an opportunity to celebrate the very best of business.
Last year 159 small and large businesses across the UK and abroad were recognised through the Responsible Business Awards for the positive impact they are having in their communities and within their own business.
Winners included EE for its Apprenticeship Scheme to tackle high youth unemployment, Anglian Water, for engaging customers to dispose of fats more sustainably, and Gentoo Group for its innovative approach to ensuring the wellbeing of its employees. National Grid was named overall Responsible Business of the Year for embedding responsible practice throughout its business.
