Study will chart integration

October 2010

A global project investigating the integration of CSR management has been started by a group of sustainability research organizations from Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

The Global Organizational Learning and Development Network for Sustainability, known as Golden, has been formed to discover how companies ‘learn to integrate and manage sustainability in their business model’.

It has asked for case studies to enable it to become the largest ever research project in the area, aiming to identify examples of organizational change.

Research groups that created Golden include the Bocconi University in Italy, Eabis in Belgium and the Social Innovation Centre, based in Paris, Singapore and Abu Dhabi. Golden has a ‘conceptual framework’ shaped by various academics and leading thinkers on CSR, including Simon Zadek.

It says it is setting out to ‘advance our understanding of how companies develop’ to address CSR challenges.

The deadline for submitting case studies is 12 November, with the initial results to be published next summer.
