Hong Kong yet to integrate CSR

June 2010

Hong Kong’s largest companies have ‘failed to embrace CSR in its totality’ despite scoring well on engaging stakeholders, a new survey says.

Oxfam Hong Kong’s latest CSR survey of the 42 Hang Seng Index constituent companies found that, as well as being good on engagement, many showed increasing awareness of CSR strategy and reporting.

However, they were weak on supply chain monitoring, incorporating policies into day-to-day business, adopting specific targets to reduce environmental impacts, and long-term community investment strategies.
