300 firms asked for water dataMay 2010
A huge group of institutional investors has asked more than 300 of the world’s biggest companies to report on their water use and other water-related issues.
The Carbon Disclosure Project, an alliance of investors managing assets worth $55trillion (£33tn, €37tn), has sent out its first water disclosure questionnaire after deciding to extend its work on carbon emissions to water last year (EP11, issue 7, p1).
The companies have until 31 July to answer questions on issues ranging from water stress to measurement and accounting.
