Two European multinationals – Daimler from Germany and Mapfre from Spain – are to give all their employees online CSR training.
Stuttgart-based Daimler has begun providing training on its code of conduct to its global workforce of 270,000 employees in 50 countries ‘to ensure compliant conduct on a sustained basis’.
The programme, recently approved by the board, will use practical case studies of ethical dilemmas to guide employees through the main parts of its Integrity Code.
The module, which is expected to take around 40 minutes per staff member and will be repeated each year with a new focus, is the biggest online training exercise of any kind undertaken by Daimler. It is available in 12 languages and can be taken at a time of each employee’s choosing.
In a separate move, Madrid-based insurance giant Mapfre will give broader training on CSR to its 30,600 employees in Spain, the US, and Latin America.
Details and a timetable have not yet been announced, but Clara Bazan Cea, Mapfre’s director of social responsibility, said the idea would be to further instil CSR into the mindset of all employees.
