GRM provides SRI analysis for insurance giantMarch 2001
A London-based firm of analysts is to carry out research into the social and environmental performance of European companies for the asset management arm of CGNU, the worldís sixth largest insurer.
Global Risk Management will provide European equity research for Morley Fund Management, which manages a number of funds for CGNU, including several within a recently launched open-ended investment company that has a socially responsible policy.
GRM marketing director Neil Marsh claimed the deal was a coup for the young company, which has a rapidly expanding client base of institutional investment houses and the investment divisions of banks such as Dresdner.
GRM has 12 analysts working in teams of three. Each team consists of one social analyst, one environmental analyst and a corporate governance specialist.
Marsh said the company aimed to provide an integrated package of analysis that combined conventional financial research with social and environmental information.
