Antipodes doubt native CSR leadershipMarch 2013
Australian and New Zealand CSR practitioners doubt the CSR leadership in their own companies compared with that within other organisations, according to research by the Australian Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility (ACCSR). When asked to cite examples of visionary CSR and sustainability initiatives, respondents pointed to companies like Marks & Spencer, Westpac, Rio Tinto, NAB and Unilever. But when asked to share experiences of CSR leadership in their own businesses, responses commonly related to community investment and philanthropy, with the third most common response being that their own company had not displayed any CSR leadership at all. The results are outlined in the State of CSR in Australia and New Zealand Annual Review 2012/13.
