Board-level CSR is now the US norm

November 2010

Around two thirds of large US companies now have a corporate responsibility-related board committee to oversee the social and environmental impacts of their business.

A new analysis of S&P 100 index firms by Calvert Asset Management and The Corporate Library has found that 65 per cent had a board-level corporate responsibility committee, along with nearly one-fifth of Russell 1000 index firms.

However, only four per cent of companies in the Russell 2000 index had such committees.
