Investors get help with proxy voting

2010

UK investment consultants Eiris have begun advising clients on proxy voting based on environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations.

Last week the company launched an ‘Enhanced ESG Voting Service’ that will make CSR-specific recommendations to investors on voting within their portfolios and help coordinate and report on voting strategies.

The new service will also provide support with reporting on voting and lobbying activity, as well as helping asset owners and managers to develop an engagement strategy.

The service is aimed at helping investors implement the UN Principles of Responsible Investment by incorporating ESG issues into ownership practices (Principle Two) and by seeking appropriate disclosure (Principle Three).
