Tessa Tennant, one of the best known figures in socially responsible investment (SRI) on both sides of the Atlantic, left Henderson Investors at the end of May. The head of strategy for Henderson's SRI funds has spent 12 years working on the Global Care range, which was set up by NPI. Henderson's parent company AMP took over NPI in January 2000. Tennant previously worked for UK investment managers Jupiter Tyndall Merlin, where in 1988 she played a key part in the launch of the UK's first green unit trust, the Merlin Ecology Fund (now the Jupiter Ecology Fund). Tennant is a board member of the Calvert Group, a US mutual fund manager which specialises in SRI.
