Socially responsible investment rating agency CoreRatings has been bought by the Norwegian risk management and certification foundation Det Norske Veritas. DNV, which is best known in the CSR field for verification of social reports, said the acquisition would allow it to offer ‘a full range of services in the corporate responsibility and governance area’. CoreRatings, which has offices in London, Madrid and Paris, was set up in 2002 by Fimilac, a holding company that owns the Fitch ratings agency (EP4, issue 6, p7). DNV has 5800 employees working in 100 countries.
