Most UK companies have responded positively to the Stock Exchange’s Combined Code on corporate governance in its first year, according to new research.
A study by Pensions and Investment Research Consultants (PIRC) found that a number of companies have already begun work on elements of the code, which draws together the Cadbury, Greenbury and Hampel principles. Some, including Burford Holdings, Computacenter, Matalan, Scotia and Selfridges, have already complied with all parts of the code before next year’s deadline.
